A very colorful example of Antique Japanese Satuma. Extreme Moriage slip work sets this design in spectacular form. Swirls, waves and beads amongst gentlemen and attendants. Three feet with dragon faces and foo dog handles up top. Nice signature on upper lip.
No body chips, some Moriage loss, not bad. Would have had a lid at one time. Good size: 9\" high, 7\" wide. Nice old crazing to the creamy white pottery, circa 1870. Comes from an old port town that many sailing ships called home.
