Antique LONGWY Faience Pottery
Enamel \"Cloisonne\" style SALT SHAKER with 2 part Pewter Lid
4\" tall, 1.5\" wide
This piece is decorated in a \"Morocan\" geometric style pattern with a variety of brightly colored enamel - turquoise, cobalt, pinks and green. The cloisonne effect is achieved with the hand decorated application of \"Stanniferrous\" enameling. (Reference: The World of Salt Shakers by Mildred & Ralph Lechner)
Condition: Overall presentation is Excellent -previously owned Antique - a few old base chips, a thin ring of enamel loss between a few of the flowers around the neck, some age crazing - 2 part pewter lid is frozen in place.
