Superb Large 19th Century Meissen Leuteritz Rococo HighRelief Bowl Roses
Presented for your consideration we are offering this superb,large rococo high relief in white and 23k gold, made in Germany by Meissen.
- This gorgeous 19th century deep bowl was designed by ErnstLeuteritz (1818-1893), as he championed a Rococo revival at Meissen celebratingthe exuberance of 18th century, opulently decorated in high relief-mouldedroses and garlands in white and 23k gold, and, 160 years later, nearly all ofthe gold is intact !!!
- Measures 12\" (31cm) Diameter x 2 1/4\" (6cm) Highat rim
- In very fine antique condition, with no damage and nearly nogold loss, but we note 2 firing cracks from production, one that is morevisible from the rear at about the 7-8 o\'clock position (photos 9 & 10), and a smaller one nearcenter just outside of the center relief pattern (photo 5), probably the reason Meissenmarked it as a second quality
- Hallmark is blue crossed swords with pommels, with painter number 76 inblue and unintelligible incising in center
