Offered here for your consideration is an antique, unmarked Scandinavian silver heart shaped snuff box or vinaigrette. Likely Norwegian or Dutch. Referred to as a Hovedvansaeg or Luktevannshus. The box is unmarked, clearly antique, and most likely a coin grade of silver. It lacks an internal screen. It dates to the late 18th early 19th century.
It is in overall good usedestatecondition with two seam tears on the side of the box, lightindentations andimpressions throughout, lightsurface scratches and scuffing throughout, and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
