This listing is for a lovely old unbranded composition/cloth mama doll from the 30\'s. She has such an appealing face. Her face reminds me of the Dionne Quint Baby dolls. She measures about 25\" when fully stretched out. I see no maker\'s mark. This old baby has seen much love and play in her long lifetime...and her composition is a bit rough...it\'s not smooth...or shiny. Baby has very fine line crazing and pitting here and there...to her cheeks, her arms and her legs. I see repaint to the back of her head, as well as an old repair to her face, above her left eye. Supersize her photos to scrutinize her details please...I have tried to picture all her flaws in my shots. I\'m not so sure that part of the roughness of her compo, could be how she was made, as her head seam is very prominent as are the limb seams....looks like no sanding was done before she was painted. Doll companies strived to produce doll parts as fast as they could and some smaller companies tried to cut corners by not sanding the limbs/heads before the painting process. ANYWAY, her eyes are her best feature and I THINK IT\'S REMARKABLE ...that this OLD BABY STILL RETAINS her brown HORSEHAIR EYELASHES!!! And, her brown sleep eyes still OPEN AND CLOSE EASILY. Her big brown glassine eyes have one horizontal crack across each eye....hard to see unless under very bright light. I\'m seeing repainted EYEBROWS AND REPAINTED RED LIPS. She has two upper baby teeth in her open mouth. Original teeth, not the flimsy replacements. Her head turns a bit arthritically for posing. Cloth body which has age darkened and has a few thinning areas where her leg wires protrude. She has a white cotton mend to her right shoulder and some seam re-enforcements, most visible is down her left side. I see pale pink nail polish to her fingertips. This doll has no odors...and she\'s from my non smoking/non vaping home.
This old baby will arrive carefully packed and wearing her darling antique baby clothes, which could use a pressing. However, I\'m leaving that up to her new mama. Her outfit consists of old lacy bloomers, a sweet cotton baby\'s dress, knit sweater and knit bonnet as well as cute baby booties. Baby is firmly stuffed and is quite heavy. Doll with clothing are being sold as is... an antique doll with the faults and imperfections of an old composition plaything. That being said, she is a darling old baby and is looking for a new home ~~~
