OMG, these are a gorgeous pair of antique chromolithographs. All original, these are two rare Maud Humphrey chromolithographs on silk dating from the early 1900\'s Victorian era! These pieces feature a beautiful blonde child lovingly gazing at two baby chicks on her arm and holding flowers and another beautiful blonde child holding and gazing at flowers with small birds flying around her! Maud Humphrey was a commercial children\'s books illustrator, born in 1868. She was also the mother of actor Humphrey Bogart. She died in 1940. On the litho with the baby chicks,bottomright side has the artist\'s initials, \"MH\" and along the side of that, the words, \"Copyright 1888 by L. Prang Co.,Boston\". L. Prang, is Louis Prang, from Boston, who was the most prolific and influential publisher of American chromolithographs!! On the litho with the birds, the artist\'s initials are located on the bottom left hand side! Both chromolithographs are covered with the old original wavy glass andare framed in their original wooden frames that feature the most beautiful floral gesso borders!The backs of these lithos have the original old wooden backings, and on one piece, you can see the word \"Prang\" written on it! The backings are held in place with original antique SQUARE nails!! In excellent condition for their age, these silk lithos have no marks, rips or tears! The frames are structurally sound, and have minor expected and age related cracking to the gesso, and some very minor wear to the corners.I cannot even begin to adequately describe the romantic and charming beauty of these two chromolithographs, they are drop dead gorgeous!! Fabulous addition to any collector of Victorian children\'s art and incredible pieces for a little girl\'s nursery or room! Each piece measures 17 1/4\" x 14 1/4\".Good luck offerding!
