This sale is for an antique pair of carved bone or similar material that looks like Faux Ivory faces mounted on oval pieces of what appears to be bone or something similar. This pair comes from the estate of a wealthy gentleman who traveled the world and collected items from all over, mostly the Bali region but also a few spots in Africa. This pair features two faces, each of which is very smooth and they are mounted (or glued) to the back piece of oval bone or whatever it is. Both pieces are Ivory colored and fairly heavy. The back pieces have ridges that surround the piece and there are some circular cracks (and a split on one of them) that can be seen in the photos. There are some very fine marks on the back pieces which can slightly be seen in the closeup photos, probably from the polishing process. This set is fairly old and it has possibly been repaired or reworked as there is some loose glue on the back side of the pieces, holding the faces on the front of the base. This glue doesn\'t appear to be original to the pieces and was probably used later in this pair\'s history. These are not resin and don\'t react to the hot pin test...please look carefully at the photos and feel free to ask any questions regarding the piece that isn\'t covered in this narrative. This is a great chance to get a old and hard to find collectible item...don\'t let these get away!
