A Stobwasser in style Paper Mache Snuff Box, Portrait of a Gentleman
This round snuff box appears to date from the 1820s or 1830s.
The subject has the appearance of a person who might have sat for a portrait by Rembrandt.
Condition is typical for its age, with some cracks around the lid surface. The portrait, itself, has some surfase scratches but has a vibrancy that attests to the quality of the work, it shows the skill of a highly trained artist. Measures 9cm diameter.
