A very good example of the patented \"Perpetual\" or \"Students\" candle lamp, from the early 20th century. I believe it\'s made of brass with a silver finish or possibly aluminum. It has a round pedestal base, with a telescoping / extending gun-barrel stem. It dismantles into 3 parts. The hood is faceted to enhance the light reflection. The base is stamped Veritas Lamp Works London. 12\" up to 16.5\" extended.CONDITION: I\'m not a collector or expert so just noting as I see it - please review images. I\'ve seen that other lamps of this kind are spring loaded - this is not - the tube must be moved manually. There is the wax remains of a candle in the base. There are dings/dents, pitting and wear and staining from age. The edges which fit into place at each end are bent so you need to maneuver a bit to get them to fit into each other but they do. It\'s an antique and works like one.
