I have no idea what kind of doll this is or what its name is.CHINA or BISQUE DOLL that looks a lot like a chubby Kewpie doll.with a beautifully handpainted face. Likely first quarter of the 20th century. Cute tight curly yellow hair molded in, overall matte bisque finish. Head, body and legs are one piece, with separate arms.
No clothing.On the back of the doll is impressed lightly Made in Japan with some kind of Japanese emblem or insignia above itThe arms are separate and are tied to the inside of the body of the doll with string fiber. I believe this is how they came because the arms have holes for the string.
7\" head to toe.Overall in good condition. No chips, cracks or breaks. All fingers, toes and features intact. The blond color on the hair has worn off on the back and sides of the head. Some light surface soiling and a few light marks on the body here and there, and one of the eyes has a small amount of paint missing. Mold mark on one arm as it came from the kiln.D-CL-B-Sub
