Antique plaque with the profile of Abraham Lincoln in bas-relief by famous sculptor Victor David Brenner, done in bronze and possibly copper. The plaque bears the dates of 1809-1865 (Lincoln\'s birth and death) and it is marked with the monogram logo signature of Victor D. Brenner. Brenner made these plaques around 1907 to commemorate the upcoming anniversary of Lincoln\'s birth.Theodore Roosevelt was so highly impressed with this plaque by Brennerthat he ordered the new Lincoln penny to be designed from this work and that it be produced for Lincoln\'s 100th birthday in 1909. This plaque is in a rare miniature size measuring approximately 3-1/2\" x 2-1/2.\" The plaque was foundmounted in an antique picture frame and is easily removable.The picture framemeasures 4-1/2\" x 6\".

The plaque hasits originalpatina and some verdigris. No damage.

This plaque came from an estate collection that included a couple other historical Lincolnitems that I will be listing.
