I am pleased to offer this Antique Arcade #1 9\" Yellow Cab Cast Iron Car from 1927. \"Arcade Manufacturing Company rapidly became a major toy maker around 1919. Struck by the large numbers of Yellow Cabs in the streets of Chicago, a young man from the company approached The Yellow Cab Company with a novel proposition: in return for the sole right to make replicas of the cab, the Yellow Cab Company would have the exclusive right to use the toy in its advertising. The success was instantaneous, and the sales of 1920s boomed so high that a new and larger plant had to be built.\" K. O\'Brien

This Arcade Yellow Cab is in fair condition for its age, showing some light paint chipping, and cracking throughout. The front grill and a section of the hood are missing along with the driver.
