Item Description

Wow, wow, wow, wow! We have never had a 4 wow item to offer you before in the 2.5 years on and we have had only a handful of these items in 35 years of dealing. Here is a great antique and rare book regarding the Free Mason Fraternal Organization for your buying consideration. Recently acquired it at an sale. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself! This book is in very good shape for being 348 years old.

Thisbook will only be offered for a short time thru this distribution channel. If one of you does not acquire it, the book will be heading off to one of the high end sale houses that we utilize for our better items to consign for sale. So, if you are seriously interestedin acquiring this book before then, please contact us and we can determine a reasonable price for this special book. We all know what happens price wise when special/rare sought after items like this go to a high end sale house, let alone the 25% to 30% buyers premium that has to be paid on top of that. We look forward to hearing from you.

This book is very rare and it is a first edition. There is not one of these books available at the rare book sites online or at upcoming high end sales that I go to for researching our book finds. Not one of the US rare book or sale houses has one of these Coustos 1st Edition 1746 books available for sale. The only ones available online are for view only at museums. Certainly if one of you knows of another one that is available online, please let me know and I will change my listing description and back covers are still firmly attached to the rest of the book. The edges of the pages on the top, bottom and sides has a gold gilting on them. Some minor foxing and brown spotting to the pages and browning around the perimeter. The covers are still in pretty good shape. A combination of some sort of leather and then a hardboard. The book is still firmly bound together. There is no musty or mildewy smell or markings in the book. The book has the smell of old Tobacco and I am not talking about filtered cigarettes!

The book still has the original illustration of John Coustos at the age of 43 near the front of the book and then the two page pullout of Coustos being tortured in Portugal. Both pieces are still firmly attached in the book. The pull out has a 1/2\" tear in it.

The book is 7-7/8\" tall, by 5-1/8\" across, by 1-9/16\" wide. The book is 400 pages in length. John Coustos actually died in the year this book was published. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures. Don’t be shy to make anoffer, we are always open to reasonable suggestions.

Makesure that this item meets your needs and requirements before deciding to acquire it. The item can be returned, but there is a 10% restocking fee to do so. So, please carefully review all the attached pictures, ask all the questions you have, comesee in person or send a friend to see the item on your behalf, prior to deciding to acquire it. Should you want to come to see the book in person in Wilmington, DE, you just need to give us one business day\'s notice to retrieve the book from our offsite Environmentally controlled storage facility.
