For your consideration are two items: An old Redfern corsett, c.1900-1915, and an old Thompson\'s Glove-Fitting Corset Box, also early 1900\'s. Please examine photos as they are part of the description. Aside from being rather yellowed and stained, the corset has nice lace and ribbon trim (some ribbon missing). All boning seems intact and no tears or holes are noted. It has 6 adjustable garter straps with metal clasps. The metal shows some rust in areas. The corset hooks with metal loops and studs and 1 hook. These are not rusted, but have some light green and white oxidation. All eyelets appear to be intact, although some are missing their fabric cover, and also show some oxidation. The corset seems to be adjusted to fit around a 24\"waist and a 36\" hip. The box is labeled for a Thomson\'s Glove-Fitting Corset \"The oldest, most reliable and best known corset in the world.\" A sticker on the bottom of the box states it won the Highest Award at the Louisiana Purchase Exposition in St. Louis in 1904. My guess is the box may be older than the corset. A very interesting piece. Thank you for looking.
