A quirky antique fly brooch made in 12k yellow gold and silver.

The insect is on a slight angle to the bar and set with beautiful rubies and diamonds.

The main body has a large oval ruby with smaller round cut and two ruby eyes. The silver wings are set with old rose cut diamonds which adds even more quality to the piece.

The pin is firm and slots neatly into a roll over catch. It has engraved marks 500 for 12k gold quality.

Insects were very popular in jewellery making in the mid 1800s.

Offered in very good condition. Stones nice and secure, gold solid and pin in good working order.
