It measures 6 3/4\" in height. The base is 6 1/8\" x 2 7/8\".
It weighs 1 pound 2.4 ounces.
Some of the red & green shredded clay garland decoration has broken off on the right side (see pictures).
Also, there is a small shallow chip on the base.
This figure can also be considered a spill vase or a pastille burner.The occasion of His Royal Highness Prince of Wales being \"initiated in the manly and healthful exercise of rowing\" was written about in Illustrated London News (April 22, 1848).
This Staffordshire figure is apparently documented in the book \"Staffordshire Portrait Figures\" from P. D. Gordon Pugh.
It is thought to have been produced circa 1849.I recently acquired through an international sale house a large collection of Staffordshire pottery figures.
These were the property of the family trust of a prominent Southern California collector / patron of the arts.
