Circa 1885.Shepard Hardware Company\'s Speaking Dog mechanical bank was very popular and when J & E Stevens took over Shepard\'s line of banks they made their own version of the bank. The English bank manufacture John Harper & Co. introduced another version of the bank in 1902. The Speaking Dog like the Girl Skipping Rope is one of a few of the mechanical banks that were specifically marketed and made for girls.Mostly in good to very good condition in my opinion. works great! Has paint wear and paint chips. Missing the bottom metal cover. No repairs, cracks or chips in the metal. All original paint. Selling as shown.
