Wonderful and unusual antique silver footed \"hovedvandsæg\" vinaigrette with a wax seal on the base.
Very Rococo design with figural cherub like children opposing on either side with landscape imagery in the background.The base is engraved with the R-K and a date of 1910.
This piece is certainly older than 1910, so it was likely a family piece that was reused - or regifted for a wedding in 1910.Tests as .800+ to .925 silver. Color was pretty red, so I think it is sterling.
Has maker\'s mark of M only on both sides (which I took a picture of up close).
Silver mark standards didn\'t come about in Denmark until the late 1890s. I assume this is a Danish piece. Measures 2.375\" high and 1.375\" across.Please let me know if you have any questions. Payment is due at the close of the sale/BIN.
