This is the cash box lock door for your 1920s Mills slot machine. This is for early C.O.K., Operator Bell, \"gooseneck\" machines. It\'s the same size as the later 30s units, but the threaded posts to mount the lock are much shorter. This would have been used with either a short barrel Yale or Mills lock.
