Description
4 inches or 10cm long 1 inch thick. Used for the Havdalah ceremony to hold Besamin (Balsamin) spice, these articulated fish boxes were made in the Low Countries and in Germany in the 19th and early 20th centuries and are very rare so fine. No markings on it that I can find but it is high grade silver (at least .835) A beautiful antique and hugely collectible item. Comes from an Irish collectors estate sale.
