This beautifully balanced antique stained glass transom window (1910s) has a simple but satisfying floral design, withsubdued but naturalistic colors of green, amber and mauve.
The design is of Art Nouveau shapedflowers on either side, bending inward toward a single stylizedflower blossom in the center, all connected with simple amber “vines”.
The original old painted framemeasures 16” x 36”; the glass measures 11” x 32”.
The glass is in perfect condition; theframe has old white paint on one side, and chipping gray paint on thereverse. The old glazing has mostly fallen out, but the glass issecured by the original tacks. The lower right hand corner of the frame isdamaged, with a small chunk missing, but the frame is still tight. (Some paint, a little carpentry work, or a bit more sanding could improve its appearance, if it bothers you.)
