Highly Sought After, Very Collectible, Unique and Rare, ... Sterling Silver Cigarette Case, Hallmarked: 1915-1916, (see photos).

The piece measures approx. 4 7/8 inches long, 3 inches high, 1/4 inch thick, and weighs approx. 137.8 grams. Some minimal wear, mostly tarnish which could polish up to look newer, hinges and latch working good. The back was slightly polished to show that it has some wear and a handsome textured finish. There is a minor slight gap at the bottom but the other sides fit flush. Probably fixable by a competent silversmith which doesn\'t affect its\' functionality or attractiveness. There is also an engraved, what appears to be the initial, D. Most cigarette cases, the cigarettes lie next to each other like sardines but, this is different and unique, there is a slotted sleeve where the cigarettes or whatever are individually pocketed.Could use a good polish to make it to look newer which I did polish a small area to show its\' hidden beauty and texture.
