You are looking at ANTIQUE (circa 1896 - 115 years old!) very detailed and rare English sterling silver TEA SET comprised of three pieces. Each piece has a starfish (?) logo and motto (below logo): “Fortis et Fidus” (I believe it means “Brave and Trusty”; see pictures) on one side only. Sterling Tea Pot:Approx. size 8.25 L x 4\" W x 5.5\" H.It is hallmarked on the bottom with “WC JL” (manufacturer mark), Lion Passant (standard mark for English silver), Leopard Head (city mark for London), letter “a” (looks like a date letter for 1896 – see picture below and check the following web site: ), and marked “Goldsmiths Company 112 Regent Street.W” Sterling Creamer:Approx. 4.5”H x 3.25W. It is hallmarked on side with: “WC JL”, Lion Passant, Leopard Head, and letter “a” Sugar bowl:Approx. 5.25\" L x 4\" H. It is hallmarked on the bottom with: “WC JL”, Lion Passant, Leopard Head, letter “a”, and marked “Goldsmiths Company 112 Regent Street.W” I don\'t have appropriate scale to weight precious metals; please use your own judgment. This RARE set would make a fine addition to anyone\'s sterling collection!!! ***NOTE about items CONDITION: when items are in antique condition, it means that items were USED and will have signs of use, such as scratches, dints, impressions, etc. and cannot be treated as NEW! This particular set, tea pot and sugar bowl are not completely steady; tea pot’ wood (is not perfectly smooth; there are some dents/infirmities on it) side handle and lid’ top handle are loose; pieces have some dents and other signs of use, however, overall condition of this set, in my opinion is good antique condition.
