Fantastic antique, Sterling silver horse head retractable pencil. Probably a fob for a pocket watch or chatelaine. Wonderful detail. Red glass eye, missing on one side.

I\'m unsure if this needs some oiling, or just a lead......not exactly sure how it should be working but I can\'t get it to propel out of the mouth. It can be pulled out and retracted manually when out of the head.

Measures approx. 1.5\" x 1/2\". Signed Sterling and a makers mark. The mark looks similar to a few well known American makers but is not a match. I\'vedrawn a picture for you.
