Silver gilt and enamel powder compact, marked 800 purity. This would not therefore be English Silver but possibly continental.

Rectangular in shape, the compact has lovely detail from the perfectly enamelled scene of two girls in period clothes in a countryside setting on the front of the lid to the engraving on the back and around the edge of the compact.

The lid opens to reveal a net inside that still has some small amount of loose powder underneath. The compact is in good condition.
