A wonderful study of two gentlemen, one pulling the rickshaw and the other riding made from glazed terracotta. I have researched this and think its a type of Japanese pottery called Sumida Gawa. This is in fantastic condition with the only issue there seems to be a chip around the back edge of each bobble head altho I dont know if that was how they are to allow for the nodding heads, also, the little pieces of wire or metal that should be thru each head is missing but the weights are still on the end of each bobble head otherwise this is in fantastic condition with the most amazingcolorand detail. There is even a fish in the rickshaw with the gentleman so maybe he has just come from the market ? There is asignatureor makers mark in Japanese on the white fan. Sumida Gawa wastypicallysigned on a white tile which makes me think this is of that make. If anyone knows what thesignaturereads please can they let me knowMeasuring 15 cm x 9 cm x 15 cm high
