This is a beautiful antique turn of the century lemon gold gilt frame.

I would estimate it dates sometime from the 1890s to the 1900s.

Overall it measures 23 inches x 29 1/4 inches (58.4 cm x 74.3 cm). The back opening size measures 19 1/2 inches x 26 inches (49.5 cm x 66 cm). The molding width measures 1 3/4 inches (4.5 cm).

Most lemon gold gilded frames date from the mid to late 19th century. This one is a little later and has a different molding profile, but it looks just great.

You can see many of the lines where the gold gilding was layed. There is one issue. For some reason, there are a few scattered small squares on the gilding, as if a small piece of tape was attached and pulled up. They don\'t stand out when you\'re standing a little ways back, but you do see them up close. There is some scattered light nicking and other wear to the finish, but nothing major.

The frame has developed a beautiful old golden patina.

It has its original old bubbled and wavy glass.

It weighs 5 lbs. 7 oz. (2.470 kg).
