Antique Victorian 14k solid yellow gold locket with attached pansy on front cover and engraved design on back cover. The locket measures approximately 1 1/2 inches long including the bale x 1 inch wide, and when open still contains the original frames and original thick glass covers to protect your photos. The large jump ring is soldered closed. The etched pansy has a small natural pearl bezel set in the center and the pansy is set onto the locket with a rivet. The engraved design on the back contains an area for initials, name, message. The locket weighs approximately 9.5 grams, and is a much heavier weight of gold than is used on most lockets today. It has minor scratches to the bright polished surface and a couple of tiny dings, which is fairly common for its age. In the language of the flowers the Pansy means: Heart\'s Ease, Pleasant Thoughts, Think of me. A very nice piece of history.
