A stunning Victorian 15ct Gold Etruscan Style Diamond set Locket Brooch dating to c1895, which has a diameter of approx\' 35mm and weighs 13.0 grams. The Brooch is centrally set with abeautiful Rose-cut Diamond (approx\' 3.5mm by 3.0mm) surroundedby eight smaller Rose-cut Diamonds - all set in a \'star setting\' in a central boss. This is surrounded by fine Gold Filigree Workwith Gold Ball & Rope Twist Decoration to the outer edge to create a Brooch that is just sublime (please see the detailed close-upphotographs provided, which form an integral part of the item\'s description).
This wonderful Antique Brooch is a superbexample of a Victorian Locket Back Brooch, which would have held a memento behind the glazed panel such asa lock of hair from a loved one although as shown, this Brooch no longer holds a hairwork memento behind the original bevelled glass glazed panel verso.
Typical of the period period the Brooch is unmarked but it has been tested and is guaranteed to be at least 15ct Gold. Overall itis in great antique condition, as shown, with much of it\'s original \'fire gilt\' finish still intact. The Brooch comes complete with its original hinge & pin, which work perfectly togetherwith a \'C\' Clasp (possibly a historic replacement) and a later added safety chain for additional security.
Commensurate with age when examined closelythe Brooch has a couple of dings to the edge where Gold balls are attached and one at the back near the edge. However, they won\'t really be noticed when worn and this remains an extremelybeautiful Etruscan Style Target Brooch set with Rose-cut Diamonds.
