Victorian15ct GoldPearl & Hairwork \'MOTHER\' Memorial Mourning Ring c1886A fine example of a Victorian 15ct Gold \'MOTHER\' Mourning Ring dating to 1886, which has a Marquise Shaped Bezel set with Pearls and a plaited hairwork band(please see the detailed close-upphotographs provided, which form an integral part of the item\'s description).
This wonderful ring, which weighs 2.6 grams, six square engraved panels forming the band; each engraved with a letter spelling \'MOTHER\'. The beautiful Marquise Shaped Bezel, which measures approx\' 11mm high by 10.5mm wide (including the Pearl set shoulders) is ball decorated and set with five Pearls to create a ring that issimplysublime.
This fine quality ring isstamped with the maker\'s mark \'DT\' and \'15\' inside the shank, confirming that it is made from solid 15ct Gold. Itis sized as a UK Ring Size \'K\', which equates to a US Ring Size \'5 1/4\'.
Overall the ring is in great condition, as shown, with only wear to the surfaces commensurate with age. The ring remembers the death of someone\'s mother and it is engraved inside the band with an inscription which reads: \'Who died 8th Dec 1886\'.
