Mourning / Memorial Ring

I love mourning jewellery.

I love the artistry of it, the hidden meanings, and the lengths that the Victorians took every aspect of death, burial and mourning too.

This beautiful example is made from 9 carat gold.

The band is decorated with black enamel, and three pearls set in star shaped mountings.

Although the hallmarks are rubbed it is clearly hallmarked as 9 carat gold and was assayed in Chester in 1878.

It is a sized as N 1/2 and at some time in the past it has been resized.

It comes in a beautiful red leather heart shaped ring case.

CONDITION

It is an antique peace but it is generally in very good condition.
