Remarkable ready-to-wear antique Victorian evening jacket or dress coat in fabulous near mint condition.
Exterior of garment is composed of a lovely dark, midnight blue silk. The collar and cuffs are lined I a soft, lush dark forest green velvet. The interior is lined in a dark green silk, as is the underside of the green velvet cuffs. Interior is quilted for extra warmth. Lapels are adorned in three false buttons on left side. Lovely large silk thread embroidered appliqués adorn either side of the garment with silk thread loops fastening over thread buttons to secure the coat. Metal hook and eye fasteners secure the coat at the neck. Tag stitched inside collar reads \"Louise E Watts 8 Somerset St\".
Stunning condition. Some wear on appliqués, occasional loose threads etc.See photos for condition and details.
