Antique Victorian Mustard Glazed Watcombe Torquay Small Bachelor Teapot Shape Number 1476 circa 1900 Here we have a very collectable antique small size, bachelor teapot dating from around 1890 - 1900 and made from red terracotta clay with a lovely mustard yellow gaze with brown spout and handle.The Watcombe Pottery was originally known as the WatcombeTerra-Cotta Clay Company when it was founded in 1871 in Torquay in Devon England. In 1901 it was amalgamated with the Aller Vale pottery and became known as the Royal Aller vale & Watcombe Co.It has themaker\'s mark of Watcombe Torquay and shape number 1476 incised in the base.The teapot is 6 3/8 inches long and stands 3 3/4 inches high. It weighs 355 grammes unpacked.Condition isvery good - outlined above. This is a great item for any collector of small size antique teapots or Victorian or motto pieces.Where possible I will give postal discount for multiple purchases.
