Allthough little more than medical quackery, these machine were popular. Electricity was produced using the large magnet and the strength of the electric shock is controlled by how fast the crank is turned. The brass handles are placed on the patients body to deliver the shock.
This machine has had a nylon cord put on it. I am not sure how the wires from the brass handles arecattached the the main machine.
