The History
This beautiful ring comes from the Art Deco Era! The Art Deco Era is famous for being the \"Gatsby\" or \"Roaring Twenties\" Era. A lot of gorgeous and timeless designs in jewelry came out of this period.
During the Art Deco Period jewelers often made jewelry upon custom order, this would often take weeks to months to completely craft by hand.
Rubies are considered one of the four precious gemstones in the world along with Diamonds, Emeralds, & Sapphires. Rubies have adorned Royal jewelry for years and has been highly prized for their rarity and gorgeous red hues.
Rose Cut Diamonds have been made for hundreds of years. They really gained popularity during the 1700\'s and were used until about 1840 when they were replaced with the Mine Cut Diamond. Rose Cut Diamonds are unique in the way that they are one of the last types of stones to feature hand cleaved facets on the stone. These stones are meant to look rough as a stone cutter would hand cleave the facets by cutting the diamond with another diamond. They are highly prized and sought after in today\'s market due to their rarity as most of these stones were lost or re-cut into more modern cuts.
During the Victorian Period White Gold had not been invented yet, it was very popular to mix alloys such as a layers bottom of gold and a top layer of Silver when making a piece of jewelry that featured diamonds. The lighter the metal the more the sparkle of the stones would be brought out.
The ring was bought from an Italian Estate and then brought to the U.S.!
The Piece
This gorgeous ring includes lovely rubies and diamonds throughout its stunning snake design! The Rubies are all round cut and show case incredible facets that reflect light beautifully. The stones show case their signature light red color and weigh in at a generous .41 Cts.
The diamonds in this piece are all rose cut and show case lovely facets that reflect light beautifully off of their surface. Each diamond is set in silver to help enhance their incredible sparkle and all weigh in at .49 Cts.
The gold work in this piece includes classic Art Deco Era craftsmanship throughout! The design is carved to look like an incredible frog with a silver topped surface, and a complete body with a head and four legs! The frog moved on a swivel hinge as well.
The ring measures in at 1.25\" long by 1\" wide. The band of the ring is flexibleand will lay flat for storage.
