Notable Features:This Russian Wedding Egg pendant was made during the Art Nouveau era. The egg was carved out ofrhodochrosite and features a deep pink hue with a striated band of black. The egg is held in place by four 18k gold branches, which appear as if they have grown up from the bottom of the pendant and moved their way up the sides of the egg to meet at the top. The curved design of the gold, with the addition of leaves and flowers, lends to the life-like appearance of the foliate motif. The design of this pendant was heavily influenced by the Jugendstil movement with its organic look. This pendant would have been presented to the bride as a gift on her wedding day, making this a special keepsake. While this would make a beautiful gift for a bride, it can also be worn as a regular pendant with a unique history!
