ANTIQUE VINTAGE BULGARIAN HANDWROUGHT SILVER Alloy Mother-of-Pearl BELT BUCKLE:

This is a lovely, unique, well-preserved belt buckle - silver/brass alloy, decorated with mother-of-pearl plates and red glass stone encrusted in the middle.

The design on the mother-of-pearl pieces is unique with double-headed eagle embossed on both side buckles.

The buckling is a toggle lock attaching the two sides with a triple chain, which gives the vintage look a surprisingly modern touch.

It is from the late 19th century.

Dimensions: Length- 6.1/4\" (16 cm.)-

Chain- 5\" (12.5 cm.)

Condition: Very well preserved antique condition with the expected patina. It has not been cleaned from the patina,leaving this decision to the buyer.

NOTE: As some of you had asked how the buckle gets attached to the belt, I posted another picture showing it. These buckles were used mainly with cloth and woven belts, which get through the metal brackets in the back and then get adjusted and sewn if needed to keep them in place.
