This old fruit jar came from an sale in Vermont. The front is embossed Mason\'s Patent Nov 30th 1858. The bottom is embossed 318Pat Nov 26 (possibly 20)67 (possibly60). The inside of the cap is marked The Hero Glass Works Philadelphia, PA. on the porcelain. The porcelain has two cracks in it. I have tried to show these in the last two pictures. The lid has a bend on the edge and some rust/wear. This jar holds one quart when full. It measures 7 1/8\" high without the lid. It is in good condition, no cracks. There is some chipping on the top rim, see pictures seven and eight. There are bubbles in the glass.
