This beautiful mantel clock from the early 20th century is a real classic, a design by German trademark Jungans withmahogany wooden box and Westminster chimes. It was made in Germany, chimes the hours, halves and quarters, having survived to our days in excellent condition.
The famous Junghans logo, an 8-point star with the J letter and the brand name inside, can be clearly seen in this clock’s movement. This watchmaker company is considered one of the most important firms in its field. It was founded by Erhard Junghans in 1861 in Schramberg, Germany,Today Junghans is still active and maintains its logo, first registered in 1890.
This nice mantel clock’s box is made of solid mahogany wood case, standing out for its striking dark red color with golden strikes. The decorative details that embellish it are extremely simple: just two columns with vertical groves and bottom diamonds flanking the clock’s face and a top crowning piece with a carved oval and two garlands. This decoration is quite attractive because of its simplicity and elegance. The face issilver with black Arabic numerals and is attached to a metal plate full of engraved golden volutes.
With its beauty and wonderful sound, this Art Deco Junghans clock, is a collector’s piece full of charm and personality.
