Here is a great piece for your buying consideration. This piece may also be a Masonic related piece. Recently acquired it at an estate sale. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself.

This beautifully carved wood double eagle appears to originally have been hung by cables based upon the two screw holes that are evident in the top of the wings. The faces are the eagles are well done as are the wings. I think that the black colored wood base to allow this piece to be displayed on a table or shelf was added at some later time. We do not see a maker\'s mark on the piece.

Certainly some dings and chips and some wood shrink crackage in places, but still a great looking piece. The eagles were carved from two pieces of wood that are seamed together in the middle of the carving. The carved eagle piece is 24.5\" tall, by 23.25\" across, by 9\" wide (1-7/8\" by the eagle carving only. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.

They have inherited the insignia of the personal emblem of Frederick the Great, First Sovereign Grand commander, who conferred upon the rite the right to use in 1786; at which time seven additional Degrees were \"Adopted\" making thirty-two \"Ancient\" and \"Accepted\" Degrees to which was added a governing Degree, the 33rd.
