For your consideration...a pair of antique, one-of-a-kind, wooden, hand carved architectural salvage, folk art LION HEAD corbels, columns/posts (my guesstimate is from approximately the early 20th century). They were removed from an old house here in the Louisville, Kentucky area. The patina/finish is all original and untouched (only gently wiped to remove dirt/dust/grime), In very good condition with conditions consistent with age, use and storage. There are some dings, dents, scratches, a few small missing pieces of wood in some areas (see pics) as well spots, discolorations, stains (a bit of white paint), dust, grime, etc. Although they are both “matching” in form they are more like fraternal twins than identical; because they are each hand carved pieces of folk art, as such, will not be exactly the same; and, in fact, one of the corbels is a bit shorter than the other (see measurements). One is (approximately) 30 3/4” long x 5 3/4” wide (at widest point) x 5 1/2” deep (at deepest point); the other is approximately the same (width and depth), but 30 1/2” in length.
