For your consideration is a fabulous antique Malletwith lots of character. I believe this to be very, very old. This tool is justas it was found in an old (antique) barn in the northeast. I have not cleanedor altered it. I was tempted to oil it to see the color of the wood come outbut I will leave that decision to its new owner.
This mallet was primitively hand hewn but certainly didits job! The mallet head is solid and heavy despite the cracks you will see. I’vetaken a close-up pic of the old worm holes.
The handle is strong and sits solidly in thehead/block. Great for display and strong enough for use. Wish I could keep itbut I must downsize.
Head/Block – approx. 6 x 4 x 3 inches
