This sale although it shows an original 1850 painted on canvas original portrait of a gentlemen it is important to point out that the actual portrait is water damaged. So really what i am trying to sell here is the original picture frame made of gold and silver wood gesso (highly carved and super decorative design along the edging or the frame) and oak inner frame along with the original 19th century original wavy glass which is very hard to come by in this condition. I would like to also point out the only flaw in any of the gesso edging of the entire frame is a small piece down in the lower right corner and we have that piece that chipped off unfortunately i wasnt smart enough to glue it on before taking the pictures but rest assure this picture frame is flawless if not for having to glue a small chip back on the frame. Lets face it you just dont find 19th century frames like this anymore and if you do any frame store wants $500+ for the frame and the glass. This frame measures 26\" long X 3\" deep X 29\" high. The inner frame where the glass is measures 13 3/4\" long X 16 3/4\" high. Once again i would like to state the small chip in the right hand corner is just a quick glue as if it was never there.
