ORIGINAL \'PROSPECT VON BOSTON GEGEN DER BUCHT AM HAFEN- VUE DE BOSTON VERS LE CALE DU PORT - VUE DE BOSTON\' VUE D\'OPTIQUE ENGRAVING \'GRAVE PAR FRANCOIS XAV. HABERMANN\' (1721-1796)This is just a great original piece. I recently acquired a great collection of early original vue d\'optique engravings from the 18th Century. These have really started to become popular again, particularly the views of the colonial United States. The ones I did acquire include a couple from Boston, one from New York, and one from Philadelphia. There were also a couple of some rare European cities. If you collect these, check my store for the other ones I have for sale. This one is a great view of the Boston Harbor. The Library of Congress describes this one as, \" Print shows the harbor in Boston, Massachusetts, two ships at anchor, British soldiers and men working, and merchandise on shore; an idealized view depicting Boston as a typical European city.\". Image measures 10 x 15 1/2 inches on sheet measuring 12 1/2 x 17 inches. Great crisp engraving with original coloring. There is some minor toning and small staining but really a very good example of this rare print. Stains are most visible in the sky. Framed in complimentary 20th Century silver frame that is complimentary and ready to hang. Frame measures 13 3/4 x 18 1/2 inches.
