Thistruly exceptional, gold washed, sterling silver,enamel pendant was made by the celebrated Norwegian silversmith, Aksel Holmsen under hisolder mark Norne.
ThiselegantArt Deco pendantmeasures 4.2cms(1 and 5/8”) long, including the bail, by 3.1cms(1 and 3/16”) across. It weighs a substantial 10.9 grams.
Inthe centre od the pendant is a raised diamond shape enamelled in soft blue.Beneath the enamel is fine line detailing. In the centre is an exquisitelyformed, gold butterfly. It is a fabulous contrast to its blue surround. Aroundthe edges , on the lower level, are half moon shapes in white and blue withdelicately indented edges.
Atthe top is a ring and an engraved bail.
Theplain, gold washed back is inscribed 925S Nornein script with an Nin a square for Norway.
Thereare tiny signs of age here and there but no enamel loss.
