Art Deco Etling Glass Circa 1929 !

This particular sculpture is calledSacred Heart Christ .

This figurine embossed near the pedestal base: “ ETLING

FRANCE133 ”.

Height almost 8 inches .

La Societe Anonyme Edmond Etling was founded after WWI in Paris France. He had a shop in Paris and commissioned artworks in various materials including art glass usually from native French Artists. The glass pieces were most often made for Etling at the Choisy-le-Roi glassworks near Paris. The company did not survive WWII, therefore their entire production was done during the fabulous Art Deco period. Several artists designed figurines for Etling generally understood to always be marked “Etling France” followed by a number which corresponded to the catalogue. The figurines were made of opalescent glass (later reproductions of the 1970s were never made in opalescent glass). – Refer to Glass Encyclopedia website for more information on this subject .
