ITEM DETAILS:

Up for sale this week is an unusual Art Nouveau era lamp that is likely from the 1890’s to the 1915. The lamp base is either a Bronze or Copper overlay/cladding that has an intricate and elaborate design – Simply gorgeous and something I have never seem before. The base holds two controlled bubble glass balls with a solid bronze Art Nouveau era statuette between the two glass balls.

The bronze statuette is un-signed as far as I can see and is in wonderful condition but will note that there is a small hole in the leg that is only visible from on the back side of the figure. (see picture). The statuette had two base posts but 1 has broken off at one point and the broken post remains inside the statuette. The statue is firmly attached to the base with the 1 post and does not move at all. I am assuming the Bronze figure is Art Nouveau Era based on the hair style.

I think the statuette might have been standing on something that is now missing – maybe a thin base but there is a square outline or impression around the bronze figure. The two controlled bubble glass balls had very corroded base screws that were replaced – the glass ball ornaments are also firmly attached and held to the base with a screw.

The light socket post is firmly soldered to the inside of the base and this soldering appears to be original – the original turn knob switch is in place but is NOT hooked up. The lamp features a “S” type cluster with pull chain switches. The lamp has been re-wired – The two pull chain switches work perfectly.

The lamp shades are two rare 3 layer petal Corolla shaped shade in light pink glass – the shades are from France and are not original to this lamp but certain fit like a “T” – the shades are held in place with 2 Uno shade holders.

The lamp base is approximately 8.75 inches wide – the base is slightly kidney shaped and the base is about 4 inches deep. The lamp is about 16 inches tall, as measured from the base to the tip of the finial. The lamp weights approximately 9 Lbs before shipping. The Art Nouveau bronze statuette stands about 8 inches tall. The lamp as pictured has 2-15 Watt bulbs installed. (Bulbs not included)

A gorgeous and I would be inclined to say rare lamp from the Art Nouveau Period – this would make for an excellent desk lamp or accent lamp – Truly, a distinctive fixture that screams high style.
