Up for sale is a beautiful and romantic art nouveau bronze bookrack or sliding bookends, circa 1900 to 1910. Classic art nouveau, this portrayal of a beautiful woman with flowing hair and flowers winding through the long tendrils. This was manufactured by the Judd Foundry, and marked 9788 on the inner ends. Cast metal with polychrome gilded bronze finish. The bookrack is expandable 9 inches to 15 inches in length so it can hold varying numbers of books. The ends measure 6 inches tall by almost as wide. The background finish on this is bronze, kind of an olive green gold finish, meant to simulate aged bronze. Then the polychrome touches of the lady\' flesh or tan face, with lovely soft brown hair caught up in a jeweled and metal snood, and touches of powder blue on the flower in her hair. She is surrounded by flowers and arches and curves. A nice rare, antique 100+ year old bookrack in such nice condition. Feel free to email me with any questions and thanks for looking.
