You\'re offerding on a charming Dutch art nouveau pottery cabinet vase from turn of the last century...the maker is Plateelbakkerij Zuid-Holland, an early Gouda Pottery firm...in very good condition. From a local estate...see our seller\'s list for more fresh finds. Forgive the reflections in the pictures. Shiny, clear finish with exquisite, under the glaze, Rozenburg-type artwork of stylized flowers and leaves with sinuous vines and tendrils. The background to the hand painting is plain white but, also, a finely-drawn tracery of mint-green and pale pink overlapping \"waves\". The effect is subtle and sophisticated with a nod to the Japanese. The leaves and flowers are white, the flowers having contrasting red stamens. Vines and tendrils are a darker sage-green. Height is just under 5\". See photo for the black, hand written marks. In addition to the little house mark are the artist\'s initials, T.V., the date mark which we can\'t interpret, Zuid and Holland. Our guess is early 1900\'s...you collectors and scholars may be more precise and, perhaps, also know the decorator\'s name. The condition is very good with no chips, cracks or restorations. No scratches. Some crazing throughout, not distracting but most noticeable on the white of the bottom and inside the neck. Present are several, tiny black specks from the firing process, mentioned for the sake of completeness. A clean example. Check our responses and offer with confidence!
