Twelve full page color plates with descriptive tissue guards. Nine full page B&W plates and numerous B&W line drawings in text. Illustrated endpapers. Top edge gilt. 4to. [10 x 7 1/2]. very uncommon original publisher\'s box, with its additional pastedown to the top matching that to front of jacket, is in fair to good condition. The bottom flap, where the publisher\'s label resides, is missing. The other three flaps have been re-inforced with tape. The paste-down is in excellent condition.




The uncommon jacket has excellent color. Spine not sunned or faded. Rear clean with very good color. Paste-down is fine. The jacket itself is in fine condition. An exceptional example.

Cloth boards to front have excellent color with gilt bright and attractive. Cloth bright and fresh and as new. The exterior is fine.

Interior is especially attractive. No previous owner\'s marks. Text block bright and fresh. No foxing, no tears, no signs of use. All plates fine. Scarce in this exceptional condition. A pristine example of the volume and the jacket.
